Subject :how long is everyone waiting to schedule COVID positive patients for ambulatory procedures?

Just wondering what everyone is doing regarding recently diagnosed covid positive patients (diagnosed positive on routine PCR exam) before their scheduled ambulatory surgery.
what time frame would you wait before rescheduling them for their elective procedure? I read that it should be a 7week hold until rescheduling - but just wondering what the general consensus is.

Thank you!

The ASA and APSF have not changed their recommendations (that I'm aware of). They are: Four weeks for an asymptomatic patient or recovery from only mild, non-respiratory symptoms.
Six weeks for a symptomatic patient (e.g., cough, dyspnea) who did not require hospitalization.

Where did the 7 wks come from?

Anaesthesia 2021, 76, 748–758 "Timing of surgery following SARS-CoV-2 infection: an international prospective cohort study" discusses waiting 7 weeks.

Update - We’re struggling with which recommendations to use. Our hospitals use 7 weeks (from the paper from England) but I like the ASA/APSF statement for our ASCs. I have a hard time postponing a lot of these ambulatory cases, especially under MAC or regional for 7 weeks for patients with mild disease. There are so many nuances to consider but that’s our area of expertise. My partners want hard-fast rules but I argue that there are none. It’s all on a case by case basis. I’d love to hear of anyone else is using the ASA/APSF to recommendations.
